Sculpture by Daniel Chester French in Harvard Yard– also know as “the statue of three lies”: The inscription reads “John Harvard, Founder, 1638.” But Harvard was a contributor, not the founder; the institution was established in 1636; and the statue is actually a likeness of a student, enlisted by French to pose.
